Dolly Parton Is Recognized for Two Guinness World Records

As if Dolly Parton didn’t already have enough achievements, she’s just been recognized by Guinness for owning two world records.  Most hits by a female artist on a U.S. Hot Country Songs chart, and most decades with a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

When Dolly Parton logged her first Top 20 hit on the country chart in late 1967 with “Something Fishy” (also her first self-penned single), she was on her way to a remarkable career that would see her reach global icon status just a decade later. Now, the singer-songwriter, actress and author adds a pair of historically significant records to her long list of accomplishments. In a recent visit to Nashville, Guinness World Records, the world’s authority on record-breaking achievements, presented Parton with record title certificates honoring her as the artist with the most hits on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart by a female and the most decades with a Top 20 hit on that same chart.
