The Kix Crew

Shotgun was born in Albany, Georgia and joined his first radio station at the young age of 15. After high school, he joined The U.S. Army earned degrees from Maryland and Central Texas. After that, he toured with such bands as Little Texas, Sawyer Brown and Robin Lee before returning to his first love of radio. In 2004 he signed on at WKAA 105.9 later to become 99.5 Kix Country. Although he has left to try other things he has returned to where it all began in Kix Country.

I started at a radio station in Macon Georgia called Q108.  Grew up military and we moved around a lot (18 different places before I was 14).  I’ve never met a stranger and when we first meet we are instantly friends. Love to sing, my karaoke go to is either Lady Antebellum, or Faith Hill. I plan to interview several country artist in studio and bring you the latest entertainment news while playing your hit music on Valdsta’s Best Country Music Station! It’s nice to meet yall, now here, hold my beer.

It all started over 30 years ago at WLKC Casey 93 Country in St. Mary’s Georgia.  I was only allowed to push buttons. I have been blessed beyond measure  to help launch the careers of such talents as Aaron Tippin, Mark Chesnutt, Colt Ford, Locash and many more. I now call Valdosta my home. I’m happily married and the father of two beautiful girls.  If there is any question about who your children may belong to, please contact Shotgun Charlie Walker at 229-253-0995 for a paternity test.

Growing up in Cairo, Georgia, home of the Syrupmakers, Gunner planted his roots in Country and Southern Gospel from an early age. From the age of 3, singing “Keep on the Firing Line” at his home church, to playing today’s best country hits every weekday night.
