“The Emoji Movie” got dismal reviews, which is probably at least part of the reason why “Dunkirk” held onto the top spot at the box office for the second straight week, with $28.1 million.

 

“Emoji” landed in second with $25.7 million, and the new CHARLIZE THERON spy flick “Atomic Blonde” finished in fourth with $18.6 million.  Here’s the Top 10 . . .

  1.  “Dunkirk”, $28.1 million.  Up to $102.8 million in its 2nd week.
  2.  NEW:  “The Emoji Movie”, $25.7 million.
  3.  “Girls Trip”, $20.1 million.  Up to $65.5 million in its 2nd week.
  4.  NEW:  “Atomic Blonde”, $18.6 million.
  5.  “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, $13.5 million.  Up to $278.4 million in its 4th week.
  6.  “War for the Planet of the Apes”, $10.4 million.  Up to $118.7 million in its 3rd week.
  7.  “Despicable Me 3”, $7.7 million.  Up to $230.4 million in its 5th week.
  8.  “Valerian”, $6.8 million.  Up to $30.6 million in its 2nd week.
  9.  “Baby Driver”, $4.1 million.  Up to $92 million in its 5th week.
  10.  “Wonder Woman”, $3.5 million.  Up to $395.4 million in its 9th week.
