“Venom” Took the Box Office for the Second Straight Week, and “First Man” Bombed

“Venom” made another $35.7 million this past weekend, which was enough to win the box office for the second straight week.  It’s also the second straight week that it beat “A Star Is Born”.

“First Man” came in third, which was a disappointment.  It only made $16.5 million in its first week, despite having a budget of $60 to $70 million.  Here’s this weekend’s Top 10 . . .

1.  “Venom”, $35.7 million.  Up to $142.8 million in its 2nd week.

2.  “A Star is Born”, $28 million.  Up to $94.2 million in its 2nd week.

3.  NEW:  “First Man”, $16.5 million.

4.  NEW:  “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween”, $16.2 million.

5.  “Smallfoot”, $9.3 million.  Up to $57.6 million in its 3rd week.

6.  “Night School”, $8 million.  Up to $59.8 million in its 3rd week.

7.  NEW:  “Bad Times at the El Royale”, $7.2 million.

8.  “The House with a Clock in its Walls”, $4 million.  Up to $62.3 million in its 4th week.

9.  “The Hate U Give”, $1.8 million.  Up to $2.5 million in its 2nd week.

10.  “A Simple Favor”, $1.4 million.  Up to $52 million in its 5th week.
