177 years ago- In 1845, Andrew Jackson, the 7th president, died in Nashville, Tennessee.
And he’ll die ANOTHER death when he’s taken off the front of the $20 bill and replaced with Harriet Tubman.

63 years ago- In 1959, Liberace defended himself successfully in a lawsuit against William Connor, who called him a “fruit-flavored, mince-covered heap of mother love, biggest sentimental vomit of all time and a calculating candy floss.” Liberace responded, “I’m not sentimental!”

53 years ago- In 1969, Brian Jones was fired from The Rolling Stones because he couldn’t get along with other members of the band. He was found dead in his swimming pool less than a month later.

40 years ago- In 1982, Baseball Hall of Famer Leroy “Satchel” Paige died at age 75.

38 years ago- In an amazing day in movie history, both “Ghostbusters” and “Gremlins” debuted in theaters in 1984! “Ghostbusters” made $13.6 Million that weekend, “Gremlins” made $12.5 Million.
