Friday night lights are staying off in Valdosta this week, because the Lowndes Vikings have a bye week—giving the rest of South Georgia a temporary break from getting absolutely steamrolled.
After dropping a casual 155 points and letting up only 8 over their first four games, the Vikings are spending this Friday doing the only thing more dangerous than playing football: resting.
While opponents pray the week off makes them rusty, the Vikings are likely using the extra time to scheme, heal up, and figure out where they are going to fit all their touchdown celebrations.
The stadium might be quiet this Friday, but the break just sets up a massive collision next week when the Vikings return to Martin Stadium to hunt some Florida teams.
